Founded in 1969 by Frank H. Caven,
Caven Enterprises has been an integral part of the Dallas gay
community ever since. The company has operated over 40 nightclubs in
Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and El Paso, Texas; Washington D.C.;
Tampa, Orlando and Key West, Florida. Mr. Caven was succeeded as CEO
by Denis Weir in 1988. In 1996, Mr. Weir was succeeded by Jack
Polachek. Caven Enterprises became an employee-owned company in
2007; Gregg Kilhoffer currently serves as President. In addition to
operating four of Texas' most successful nightclubs, CEI also owns
and manages commercial real estate in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas.
