FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Gifting Project for LGBTQ+ Essential Services

Dallas, Texas – December 9, 2021 – The Paul Lewis Gift Project returns with gift bags for charity after a long hiatus from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Named after late Caven employee Paul Lewis, The Paul Lewis Gift Project puts together over 1,000 gift bags filled with food items and holiday goodies.

The Paul Lewis Gift Project creates “hope and compassion for those in need,” said Christine Bengston, Caven’s Event Coordinator and Community Liaison — and co-founder of the project.

The gift bags are distributed to clients of various LGBTQ+ non-profit organizations in the DFW metroplex, including AIDS Services of Dallas, Parkland’s HIV Clinic, AIDS Interfaith Network, Prism Health, Resource Center, and Legacy Counseling.

The annual bagging project was hosted at Station 4 and managed by the Cedar Springs Merchants Association, Cedar Springs Tavern Guild, Dallas Pride Committee, Caven employees, and various volunteers.
